The Hands Behind the Project

 

I’m Alfredo Benítez Valero, ceramic artist and interior designer. Abenval —an acronym of my name— is the project where my two passions meet: craftsmanship and spatial design.

 

I was born in Barcelona and worked for over two decades in visual communication and decoration within the fashion industry. That experience shaped my sensitivity towards materials, composition, and form.

 

Over time, I discovered in ceramics a slower and more sincere way to create —a language that allows me to work with my hands, respect the rhythm of each process, and connect with what is essential.

 

Trained in a traditional ceramic studio in Barcelona, I combine handcrafted technique with a contemporary perspective. Each piece seeks balance between nature, function, and expression.

 

The first Abenval collections —Serie Nº1 and Colors Series— reflect this ongoing exploration between form and material. Pieces that reinterpret everyday objects through simplicity and honest craftsmanship.

 

Today, the project grows from Valls, a calm environment that mirrors its values: authenticity, balance, and connection with nature.
